A must read and own: The Piedmont Almanac by a super guy, Dave Cook.  Carolyn and Gordon got this for me for my birthday.  It's wonderful!!!  Thank you!!!  I've already started writing in it.  I was happy to have some where to record the flock of cedar waxwings that decimated our possum haw in front of the center.  This guy seems to have written for me.  It's just the right amount of reading, cool stuff cutting across many disciplines from recipes and folk tales to dendrology.  Most of the sections relate to a specific week of a month so if you can't read for awhile you just pick it up at the right section for where you are at the time and at least date your entries with a year notation.  I love it!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Drum sticks are always welcome!  I currently use Zildjian 5B Wood purple dip sticks.  I'll use the 2B versions of these and the 7A as well. Vic Firth's Rute stick bundles, Rute original, Rute 202 or Rute 303 are highly prized!!!

Birdseed is always welcome.  I've got all types of birds out here, from typical feeder birds to warblers, to pileated, downy, red bellied and redheaded woodpeckers and nuthatches.  Something with millet, black oil sunflower seeds alone or in combination, nuts, berries, mixtures with all of the above. There are critters out here that would appreciate just about anything we put out.

Tickets to good shows in the area: 

The North Mississippi Allstars!!!   Actually I think there'd be a lot of fun happin' if I got to play with the Allstars.  I know Cody likes to play guitar every now and then, he's good and Lord knows it's easier to take off on a lead with a good rhythm man behind you.  I can't stop playin' to these guys, they're so much fun!!!  I love dancin' at the shows, but playin's the real mac daddy.  I know I've driven the hubby crazy, but he admires Mr. Chews playin' so it's not too bad for him, I don't think.  I have been workin' on Greenz material (http://www.mixedgreenz.com/tunez/  )  and we kicked keister at the show on the 19th and the jam at the Bayou, but gravies it'd be great to play with the Allstars!

Robert Randolf anywhere nearby.  These guys are wild too.  They're a real work-out to practice along with, but I love it.  Never seen 'em live.  Saw 'em on Austin City Limits and spent the evening dancin' in the kitchen!
